As with all traditional Aston Martins, she was entirely hand built with each car requiring 1,200 man-hours to finish. Factory fitted with a Tadek Marek designed V8 engine - the AM V8 was the successor to the 6 cylinder DB6.

Finished in its original colour combination of Cornish Gold with cream leather interior.

Only 288 Series 2 cars were built between April 1972 and July 1973 and although David Brown left the company in 1972, he had overseen development of this model and the first 34 cars still carried leftover 'DBS V8' badges, this example is one of the 34. However, as this car was built for the overseas market a DBSV8 prefix was also added to the chassis number instead of the usual V8 prefix, this was done to avoid any homologation issues. This only adds to the rarity of this car.

Supplied with an extensive file of paperwork dating back to the early 1970's, also included is the original maintenance manual and the Aston Martin Lagonda Warranty card from 1972.

This particular low mileage example has had two previous owners. The first being a Mr Andrew Mentis of South Africa who purchased the car new on the 19th September 1972. The second owner was Mr Jean Marc Lederman who owned the car from the mid 2000's until last year.

The engine number is V/540/450 and the chassis number is DBSV8/10580/RCA. Both numbers can be validated against the original Warranty card from 1972 - see attached photo.

Recent work carried out includes the fitting of new front discs/pads and new suspension parts; track rod ends, drop links and bushes. A new distributor cap, spark plugs, rotor arm and battery were also fitted.

The MOT runs until July 2022.

The vehicle is located in Alton, Hampshire.
